CONGRATULATIONS & MAZAL TOV! You've had a baby boy.
Rabbi Mushell, Certified Mohel, offers in-person or over the phone no-cost consultation to discuss and prepare you for the Circumcision or Bris Milah of your child. Rabbi Mushell performs Shul/Synagogue Brissim, as well as MI Mohel Office Circumcisions. When possible, the Rabbi will try to accomodate home-visit circumcisions as well.
With the recognition that this is an intensely joyous yet worrisome time for you, the Mohel will do his utmost to give you and your child the comfort and care you deserve. He will be happy to assist you by phone or email with any inquiries or questions and ensure that you have all the information you need about Bris Milah/Circumcision.
Please Note: Rabbi Mushell performs circumcisions for infants under 3 months of age only.
Circumcision has been practiced by generations for thousands of years, since the time of the biblical patriarch Abraham. As the world advances, we constantly review and update our best practices to make circumcision as safe and comfortable as possible, while adhering to tradition.
Please keep in mind, that a Mohel is not a doctor and cannot answer health questions unrelated to ritual circumcision. All health concerns should be discussed with your primary care provider before making a descision about circumcision.
Prior to the procedure the Mohel will explain the entire process and answer any questions prior to the procedure. Information will be presented about the pre-prep, the circumcision itself and the after-care. The childs parent/s or legal guardian/s will be required to sign consent forms. Parents or caregivers are given the choice to be present, and if desired, they may be given the choice to hold their child throughout the procedure.
